A Glimpse of Barangay Catarawan

This place was gifted with a kind of palm tree called “Taraw” and is usually used for construction purposes. The juicy inner part (the edible young shoot of the tree) from the upper part gives a delicious taste and believed to have an aphrodisiac medicinal value for sexually incapacitated people according to records. The popularity of the tree made the people name the place “Catarawan” and in 1966, the place turned into a barangay.
