A Glimpse of Barangay Pao

In the mid 19th century, a very brave Bugkalot leader and hunter named “Pa-o” fearlessly traveled all the way from Maddela, Quirino to undertake and explore despite the dreadful forest that is feared by others to try and discover. He reached this place and stayed for a while until he died in 1902. There were other tribes who came after and settled in the place and later called it “Pa-O” in honor of the Bugkalot founder. In 1969, the place became a barangay of the town.
