A Glimpse of Barangay Paquet
Paquet was once a part of Barangay Siguem. This was a place of honeybees and honeycombs locally called in its Bugkalot term as “Peket” which are found everywhere in the place, along riverbanks. These “Pekets” hanging along trees near the riverbanks served as merienda or snacks for the Ilongot while they rest after their hunting activities. From this term, they named their Barangay “Paquet” when it was separated from Barangay Siguem. In 1982, COMELEC approved the declaration of Paquet as a full barangay of the town.
