A Glimpse of Barangay Poblacion

Prior to the year 1980, Poblacion was a part of barangay Alloy and was just separated from its mother barangay in 1980, which happened to coincide with the first barangay election. “The separation of Poblacion was made through the efforts of the Municipal Mayor, Alberto Bumolo, Sr., and the former DILG Officer of that year. The reason for separation was because Poblacion was already the actual seat of the Municipal Government during the incumbency of Mayor Bumolo, Sr., the man behind the transfer of the seat of the municipal government from Kinalo, and the creation and transformation was based on the ratification of the 1972 COnstitution in 1973 giving provisions for the creation of barangays in cities ad towns centers.”
